Number of Customs & International Trade Compliance Interventions undertaken

The request was partially successful.

Dear HM Revenue and Customs,

Under international law, HMRC are required to undertake post-clearance audits to economic operators.

I would be grateful if you could provide the number of Customs & International Trade Compliance Interventions undertaken post clearance to Economic Operators (traders registered with an EORI number) in the financial year 2021/22.

Where possible, I would be grateful if you could break this down to:
- desk based checks
- premises visits (also known as a post clearance audit under international law)

Also where possible, I would also be grateful if you could break down any figures by customer compliance group directorate e.g. individual & small business compliance; large business etc.

Thanks

Yours faithfully,

Charles Matter
