Number of confirmed ocular Toxocariasis cases in England during 2015

Anne Anova made this Freedom of Information request to Public Health England

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Public Health England did not have the information requested.

Dear Public Health England,

This request was previously sent to NHS England, which replied saying they did not have the answer and suggested the request was sent to PHE. Therefore, please would you be so kind as to supply the number of confirmed ocular Toxocariasis (ocular larva migrans) cases in England during 2015? If the figure is not yet available, please would you supply the figure for the previous year, or the nearest year? Also; if possible, please could you supply for comparison the number of confirmed cases for any years that you have available to compare whether the number of cases is increasing or decreasing annually. Thank you very much.

Yours faithfully,

Anne Anova

Dear FOI,
Thank you for your response. I'm very disappointed that neither yourselves, nor NHS England have the information required and also that you have not made any suggestion as to which body I could now contact. I'm grateful for the link to the document entitled 'Epidemiology of Toxocariasis in England and Wales', however, this document is unavailable unless the journal is subscribed to, or a copy of the document is purchased from Whiley; both options are very expensive and inaccessible to me for my investigation into false reporting of the numbers of confirmed ocular Toxocariasis cases in England during 2015 (or other years). I'd be extremely grateful if you could supply this document as an attachment, or otherwise please supply an accessible link to the document as it seems that this paper is the only relevant information available on the subject and is therefore essential reading in order to complete my FOI request. Thank you once again.

Yours sincerely,

Anne Anova
