Number of Computing teachers in your Local Authority

Kate Farrell made this Freedom of Information request to Inverclyde Council

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Inverclyde Council,

I would like to know how many Computing teachers work in Secondary schools in the local authority currently and how many Computing teachers worked in Secondary schools five years ago.

I would ideally like to have the information broken down by school, if possible.

If a school no longer has teachers teaching Computing or Computing-related subjects or a Computing department then I would like to know the reason for this decision.

Many thanks for your assistance in this matter.

Yours faithfully,

Kate Farrell

Dear Kate

Please find below our response to your recent FOI request.

I would like to know how many Computing teachers work in Secondary Schools
in the local authority currently and how many Computing teachers worked in
Secondary schools five years ago.

2011-12

Clydeview Academy       5

Inverclyde Academy       3

Notre Dame HS                 2

Port Glasgow HS               1

St Columba's HS                2

St Stephen's HS                3

Total                                      16

Five years ago there were 20 teachers teaching computing in our secondary
schools (not all full time and permanent positions). The schools have
changed significantly over the past 5 years - it would not be meaningful
to list staff numbers per school for that time period.

If a school no longer has teachers teaching Computing or Computing-related
subjects or a Computing department then I would like to know the reason
for this decision.

Reductions due to fewer schools in the area.

I trust that this assists with your enquiry. I have also attached a copy
of our review procedures, should you require them.

Regards
