Question 1: As of 15 February 2023, how many children in your local authority had an Education Health Care Plan?
Question 2: How many children with special educational needs in your local authority area required an Education Health Care Plan for transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2023?
Question 3: How many of these children received their final transition Education Health Care Plan by the 15 February 2023 deadline?

did not receive their final transition Education Health Care Plan by the
15th February 2023 deadline in 2023, I can tell you the following:
FOI REQUEST
1. As of 15 February 2023, how many children in your local authority
had an Education Health Care Plan?
2. How many children with special educational needs in your local
authority area required an Education Health Care Plan for transitioning
from primary to secondary school in September 2023
FOI RESPONSE
1. I can confirm that a total of 3483 Children/Young Persons in
Walsall had an EHCP in place on or before the 15^th February 2023.
2. I can further confirm that there were 305 children with an EHCP
that transitioned from Primary to Secondary School in September 2023
within Walsall.

1. I can confirm that within Walsall a total of 3483 Children/Young

2. I can confirm that there were a total of 305 children with
special needs within Walsall who required an EHCP for
transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2023.
3. Of the 305 children with special needs requiring an ECHP for
transitioning from primary to secondary school I can confirm that a
total of 212 children within Walsall received their transitioning
ECHP’s by 15^th February 2023.
