I am writing to confirm that Middlesbrough Council has now completed its
search for the information you requested on 12^th March 2019, in relation
to children with a Statement of Special Educational Needs.  Your request
has been considered in accordance with the requirements of the Freedom of
Information Act. 

 

In your request you asked for the following information:

 

As per 1 May 2018, how many children in your local authority had a
Statement of Special Educational Needs?

 

Response: No child or young person for whom Middlesbrough Council had
responsibility had a Statement of SEN on 1 May 2018.

 

How many children with special educational needs in your local authority
area required an Education Health Care Plan or statement of SEN for
transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2018?

 

Response: No child ‘required’ and EHCP to transition to secondary school.
60 children had an EHCP when transitioning to secondary school in
September 2018.

 

How many of these children received their final transition Education
Health Care Plan or statement by the 15 February 2018 deadline?

 

Response: Of the 60 children who had an EHCP 59 ‘phase change’ final
EHCP’s were sent for the 15^th February deadline.

 

As per 15th February 2019, how many children in your local authority had a
Statement of Special Educational Needs?

 

Response: No child or young person for whom Middlesbrough Council had
responsibility had a Statement of SEN on 15^th February 2019

 

How many children with special educational needs in your local authority
area required an Education Health Care Plan or statement of SEN for
transitioning from primary to secondary school in September 2019?

 

Response: No child ‘required’ and EHCP to transition to secondary school.
77 children have an EHCP who will transition to secondary school in
September 2019.

 

How many of these children received their final transition Education
Health Care Plan or statement by the 15 February 2019 deadline?

 

Response: Of the 77 children who had an EHCP 77 ‘phase change’ final
EHCP’s were sent for the 15^th February deadline.
