Number of children under 2 that were forcibly adopted since 2010

We're waiting for Concerned Parent to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Ministry of Justice,

Under the Freedom of Information Act I would like to know the number of children each year under the age of 2 that were forcibly adopted in England since 2010, breaking it down by local authority.

I look forward to a swift reply

Yours faithfully,

Concerned Grandparent

Disclosure Team, Ministry of Justice

Dear Sir or Madam

Please note, under section 8(1) of FOIA, a request for information must comply with three requirements. It must:

(a) be in writing,
(b) state the name of the applicant and an address for correspondence, and
(c) describes the information requested.

After initial consideration, this request appears to comply with requirements (a) and (c) but it does not comply with requirement (b) because you have not provided your full name.
I am therefore not required to process your request without information that can later be referred to, as per Section 8(1)(b) FOIA. The information we require is your name.
As your request has been deemed invalid, I am not obliged to disclose the requested information at this point and I would like to take this opportunity to recommend that any future FOI submissions adhere to Section 8 of the FOIA.
To enable us to meet your request, please resubmit your application in accordance with the above requirements. We will consider your resubmitted request upon receipt as long as it meets the requirements stated above.
You will then receive the information requested within the statutory timescale of 20 working days as defined by the Act, subject to the information not being exempt.
You can find out more about Section 8 by reading the extract from the Act available at the attached link:

Dear Carmichael, David,

To clarify

By forced adoption I mean the number of of children under 2 two but were adopted without their parent's consent and were denied Justice to be able to contest it for example having an adoption hearing in private in secret without the legal notification to birth parents so they are are undoubtedly unable to attend as the adoption hearing where they are legally allowed to contest was denied to them. Their rights to contest were denied and it would be useful to see any reasons for holding private adoption hearings without legal notification to birth parents as it is the fundamental human right to be able to contest otherwise there is no justice

Yours sincerely,

Concerned Parent

Dear Carmichael, David,

Information from 2011 will be fine thank you.If the scenario is given such as I have put in my previous reply would that fall under contested or uncontested? As birth parent wished to contest and waited 2 years for a date but was not giving her legal rights to contest as the adoption hearing was held in private without anyone being notified. Berkshire and Thames Valley would be my main interest also be useful to see how this stacks up vs other local authorities

Yours sincerely,

Concerned Parent
