Number of car breakdowns in the UK organised by fuel type

Department for Transport did not have the information requested.

Dear Department for Transport,

You recently released information on the number of licensed cars from 1994-2018, organised by propulsion/fuel type, as can be seen here:

I would like data on the number of car breakdowns on UK roads between 2014-2019 broken down by fuel type (electric, petrol, diesel, hybrid) and vehicle makes/models. Please provide this as an Excel spreadsheet (or similar format), broken down by fuel type and month (or year if month is not possible).

I am also interested in the number of car makes/models that have been recalled between 2014-2019. Please can you provide this data, broken down by month (or year) and by make/model and number of recalled vehicles.

Yours faithfully,

Sabrina B

to establish who would be best placed to answer your request.

I have been informed that the subject matter falls within the remit of
Highways England. Can I therefore ask that you re-direct your request to
Highways England via the following portal:

Additionally, information relating to car makes/models that have been the
subject of a recall would fall within the remit of the Driver and Vehicle
Standards Agency, who can be contacted via: [2][email address]

Kind regards
