Number of BAME people in Northern Ireland between the ages of 13-27 as at 2011

The request was successful.

Dear Northern Ireland Statistics and Research Agency,

I am looking to obtain the number of people in Northern Ireland between the ages of 13 - 27 that are in an Ethnic Minority (otherwise known as BAME) as at 2011. This should exclude White British/ Welsh/ Irish/ Scottish.

The information will be paired with equivalent numbers for Scotland, England and Wales to give the number of people who are BAME, between 13-27 years old, in the UK as a whole.

Yours faithfully,

Reece

Reece,

Thank you for your email.

There were 6,759 usual residents aged 13 to 27 that recorded an ethnicity
which would be classified as BAME.

We took the definition of BAME as -

‘Black, Asian and minority ethnic (used to refer to members of non-white
communities in the UK)'

Please be aware that this figure excludes White British, English,
Scottish, Northern Irish, Welsh, 'Other White' or any combination of these
ethnic groups.

Kind regards,

Jonathan

Jonathan Alexander
