NRM appeal outcomes, 2014-2018

M Esslemont made this Freedom of Information request to Home Office

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was refused by Home Office.

Dear Home Office,

Please provide the number of National Referral Mechanism appeals made between January 1st 2014 - December 31st 2018, disaggregated by:

- Year (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, or 2018)
- First Responder type (eg. Home Office, NGO etc.)
- Nature of the NRM decision appealed (for example, "Reasonable Grounds", "Conclusive Grounds" or initial referral if applicable)
- Outcome

Please note: I understand that appeals may be lodged in one calendar year and assigned an outcome in another. Data on the number of RG/CG appeals should not be excluded on the basis that the appeal was made in a different year to the outcome.

Thank you for your help with this.

Yours faithfully,
M Esslemont

Dear Home Office,

I wish to request an internal review of the rejection of FOI request 55075, in which I ask for the number of National Referral Mechanism (NRM) reconsiderations between the period of 2014-2018, alongside their referral type and the stages of these reconsiderations. You have confirmed, in numerous other requests, that the Case Information Database holds the data on each stage of the National Referral Mechanism process, along with the progress of immigration claims (case ref 563964). Further correspondence confirms that this same data source also includes information on first responder referrals alongside outcomes (case ref 54815).

Please provide the aforementioned data, or confirm whether you hold information on NRM reconsiderations.

Yours faithfully,
M Esslemont
