Subject: NowMedical Homelessness Assessments - Standard Terms & Conditions

Your request is being considered and you will receive a response within
the statutory timescale of 20 working days, subject to the application of
any exemptions. Where consideration is being given to exemptions the 20
working day timescale may be extended to a period considered reasonable
depending on the nature and circumstances of your request. In such cases
you will be notified and, where possible, a revised time-scale will be
indicated. In all cases we shall attempt to deal with your request at the
earliest opportunity.

If we are unable to provide you with the information requested we will
notify you of this together with the reason(s) why, and details of how you
may appeal.

Request FOI/9456

Further to your request received on 07/03/2024, I confirm that the Council
has now considered your request under the Freedom of Information Act
2000. Specifically, you have requested the following information:

"In response to FOI request FOI/8040 the Council confirmed that they
commission NowMedical on a monthly basis.

Please provide the following further information and/or clarification
about how the Council commission NowMedical:

- A copy of NowMedical's standard terms and conditions which the Council
used when instructing NowMedical on homelessness vulnerability assessments

- Alternatively, if the Council has a seperate contract/ agreement with
NowMedical, please confirm and provide a copy of that seperate contract/
agreement."
 
Now Medical are an independent company, employing both private and NHS
Consultants and qualified GP,s working across a range of specialist areas.
The key benefit is that Now medical have a specialist knowledge pertaining
to housing and the test used to determine vulnerability within a statutory
homeless concept.

The council obtains client consent to undertake what are statutory
enquiries, in order to best determine Vulnerability within the Housing
concept (Priority Need) and for  issues such as suitability of
accommodation.

Now Medical services are accessed through a secure online Web Portal
through which medical information can and is also sent, the cost of these
services are invoiced to the council monthly in arrears. Now Medical.
Terms and Conditions are on the website, thus available in the public
domain the requester can be directed to this.

So to confirm, we don’t specifically have a separate contract agreement
with NowMedical, and instead just commission their services on an ad hoc
basis or whenever needed via the web portal. Due to this, the Council
doesn’t have nor hold a copy of standard terms of service but can be
found/requested on their website via their contact us page:
