Notifications from the University of Cambridge under section 193 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act
Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
I am making this request on the assumption that the Secretary of State for Work and Pensions is the "Secretary of State" referred to in the the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. If this is incorrect, please ignore this request (but I would appreciate it if you could inform me which Secretary of State is the correct one for that Act).
Please tell me, by reply to this e-mail address, broken down by calendar year, and starting from 1 January 2004, the number of times the University of Cambridge has notified the Secretary of State under section 193 of the amended Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
If this information is unavailable, please tell me, by reply to this e-mail address, whether the Department holds copies of any notifications from the University of Cambridge under section 193 of the amended Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992, such notifications applying to any time period from 1 January 2004 onward.
Yours faithfully,
Bruce Beckles

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,
With regard to my previous e-mail: in any event, please inform me, by e-mail to this address, whether the Department of Work and Pensions is the department of government which would normally hold notifications to the Secretary of State under Section 193 of the amended Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992.
Yours faithfully,
Bruce Beckles

It seems that notifications under section 193 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992 are held by The Insolvency Service's Redundancy Payments Service, but forms are retained only for 12 months. See the response to this Freedom of Information request on WhatDoTheyKnow.com:
http://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/no...
That response also suggests that the relevant Secretary of State for this Act is the Secretary of State for Business, Innovation and Skills.

I think (although I cannot be completely certain) that this response means that the Department for Work and Pensions is not the department of government that would normally hold notifications from employers under section 193 of the Trade Union and Labour Relations (Consolidation) Act 1992. I think the response is suggesting that the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills is the appropriate department.
