2017/1136 - Officers charged with a Crime 
 
In response to your recent request for information regarding;  
 
I am requesting is for the previous 3 calendar years . 
My request is for the number of North Wales Police officers who have been 
charged with a crime.  
I would also like to be sent a breakdown of the number of charges against each of 
the police officers for each of the 3 years - E.g. 1st January 2014/15 ... (for the 
previous three years, and/or up until the date this request is received).  
 
2015  - 3 officers in total  
Convicted (x1 offence) 
 
Convicted (x1 offence) 
 
Charged (x10 offences) & convicted (x3 offences)  
2016  - 4 officers in total 
Charged (x2 offences ) but not convicted (x2) 
 
Charged (x1 offence)  but not convicted  (x1)

2017  -6 officers in total

Please also give details of what protocol is used by North Wales Police for dealing 
with such cases, i.e. charges against officers, those which relate to crimes etc.  
 
There is no such protocol in place.  Staff would be dealt with in the same way as anyone 
else being charged.
