North East Wildlife (NEWW) later called Wild Ground and the Rhydymwyn Valley Site

We're waiting for Paula Williams to read a recent response and update the status.

Dear Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs,

I am writing to make an open government request for all the information to which I am entitled to under the Freedom Of Information Act.
In order to assist you with this request, I am outlining my query as specifically as possible. If however this request is too wide or too unclear I would be grateful if you could contact me as I understand under the act, you are required to advise and assist.

I wish to make a Freedom Of Information Request asking what are the duties of the above at the Rhydymwyn Valley Site and a copy of their contract.

I wish to make a further Freedom Of Information Request asking you to provide detailed costs of the last 4 years and also provide the details of any competitive tenders.

Additionally I wish to make a Further Freedom Of Information Request asking you for the total ever paid to NEWW or Wild Ground from DEFRA?

Finally I wish to make a further Freedom Of Information Request asking you if the monies paid historically were solely for wildlife management or was the an obligation to address other site interests?

I understand that under the act, I should be entitled to a response within 20 working days. I would be grateful if you could confirm in writing that you have received this request. I look forward to hearing from you in the near future

Regards

P Williams

Dear [email address] on behalf of Defra Information Rights Team,

Thank you for your above reply for which I note, but do not necessarily agree with, the various exceptions and redactions. Taking NEWW separately from Wild Ground, as they have not received any payments, you state that they have received £550,139,62 between November 2010 and the present.

In previous correspondence from your Minister it was revealed that payments to NEWW up to the end of 2010 was £470,846,50. This would give a total payments to NEWW of £1,023,000,12.

Is there any evidence that any of this large sum of public money was used to support the various stake-holders or community groups as on the other two "Special Legacy" sites.

To clarify my request fro information concerning competitive tenders for the new wildlife management contract. I would ask:

* Who tendered for the current contract?
* What were the final bids?
* Who decided the winner?
* Was this process for just one year?
* Will there be another competitive tender for the next year and if so where can the tender documents be seen?

Yours sincerely,

Paula Williams
