Non-traditional residential housing lists
Dear Dorset County Council,
I’m currently in the process of compiling local authority information of addresses where non-traditional methods have been used.
Several mass building projects for local authority houses were constructed using prefabricated or in-situ techniques such as concrete or steel and often had trade names such as Reema, Wates, Cornish etc. These are both pre and post war. Some of these types were subject to further investigation under the Housing Act 1985.
I would be grateful if you could forward and information you hold of information relating to such dwellings in your local authority. Even if the information is limited it would be of great use. Some local authorities have provided lists showing the road, number and type to assist with identification.
Yours faithfully,
Steven Lees, BSc(Hons), MRICS

Dear Mr Lees,
Thank you for your email.
Dorset County Council is not responsible for housing in Dorset, as this is a District/Borough Council function. Therefore you would need to contact these Councils in order to gain this information. Please find attached an information request form containing the contact details of the FOI Teams at each of the Councils.
Yours sincerely,
