Non Publicly Available Contact Details

A made this Freedom of Information request to The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

Response to this request is long overdue. By law, under all circumstances, The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman should have responded by now (details). You can complain by requesting an internal review.

Dear Sir or Madam,

I am writing to make a formal request under the FOIA for any contact details the LGO may have which are not publicly available.

To help narrow the potential breadth of this request, at this stage I am only looking for:

- General Contact Email Address

The online complaint form may not be suitable for all members of the public nor for making a general enquiry to the LGO electronically.

- Email Addresses for the Chief Investigator for:

a.) Social Care Provider Issues,

b.) Council Issues (i.e. not just limited to social care issues).

- Email Address for the actual and (deputy) Ombudsman

I hope this request may be dealt with promptly without having to wait the full twenty working days.

May I finally take this opportunity to request a copy of your formal written FOIA procedure as this sadly does not seem to currently available online.

Have a pleasant afternoon.

Yours faithfully,

Akib.

Foi Officer, The Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman

Dear Akib

We do not have a general email address. If the online complaint form is not suitable for your enquiry you need to phone us on 0300 061 0614.

We do not have Chief Investigators for the areas you ask about.

The Ombudsman's personal assistant's email address is [email address]. Mr King is away at the moment. There is no Deputy Ombudsman.

Please see http://www.lgo.org.uk/information-centre... for our FOIA process.

Yours sincerely

Dear Hilary,

Thank you for your swift response about the different points I made in my FOIA request.

The link to the FOI process is not sufficient as it does not detail your approach to such request. Would you kindly be able to supply me with a copy of your written FOIA procedure?

Would you be able to release the email address for the Ombudsman?

Best Regards,

Akib.

Dear Hilary,

I am dissapointed that you are not willing to disclose the Ombudsman's email address however at this moment in time I am not going to pursue this further.

May I again make the recommenation to your relevant colleagues at the LGO, to at least provide a general email address so interested parties can establish contact with your commission electronically.

Kind Regards,

Akib.
