Non-prescribed traffic signs for 2010

Ben Harris made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Transport

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Transport,

Please would you send me copies of the information held
electronically on authorisations that DfT has issued for
non-prescribed traffic signs in 2010? The format in which you previously released them under reference F0006051 would be suitable.

Thanks in advance.

Ben Harris

Hugh Arnold, Department for Transport

Mr Harris

Your Request for Information, REF: P0007222

Thank you for your request for all electronically held information for all authorisation issued by this Department for the year 2010.

As this Department handles in excess of 500 applications for authorisations each year and many authorisations can generate much correspondence I would ask you to consider refining your request. Is there a specific type of sign in which you are interested in or a specific location? If you are not able to refine your enquiry it may prove too costly for the information you requested to be provided. This would be the case if the cost of providing the response (in terms of staff time) exceeded £600.

I await your response. Please note that if I do not receive appropriate clarification of your information requirements within three months from the date of this letter, then I will consider your request closed.

Kind regards

Hugh Arnold

Dear Hugh Arnold,

What I would like is a catalogue of the authorisations issued, in a similar form to that supplied to me last year under reference F0006051. It should include the identity of the traffic authority (or other person) to whom the authorisation was issued, a brief description of the nature of the authorisation, and whatever information is necessary to allow you to identify the authorisation in question. I would expect that you would have an internal catalogue of some sort, and that a copy of that would suffice. I am happy to receive additional information if that saves you effort.

Yours sincerely,

Ben Harris
