London Fire Brigade

Dear K Philpot,

Thank you for your email received on 20 December 2019 in relation to Operational Support Unit (OSU) positions at the LFB.

In response our People Services department have confirmed that since 2011, Operational Support Unit (OSU) positions at fire stations have been operational firefighter positions on the establishment. There are small number of staff who crewed the OSU as 'non-operational firefighters' before 2011(a role that no longer exists within the organisation) and have been allowed to continue to crew the OSU as FRS staff (FRSB) on a personally protected basis.

I hope you find this information of use. Should you have any further questions please do let me know.

This request has been dealt with under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. If you are dissatisfied by this response you can request an internal review by writing to the Head of Information Management at the address below (or email [email address]).

Kind regards,

Zoe
