Non-metric prices

Waiting for an internal review by Harrogate Borough Council of their handling of this request.

Dear Harrogate Borough Council,

Harrogate charges for allotments per square yard.

By contrast, Newark charges per square metre:

"cost is 11.33p per square metre"

Can you provide any correspondence or documents relating to the use of metric for fees and charges?

Businesses have been prosecuted by councils for breaking the law by failing to use metric prices. Councils should set an example and use metric themselves. I'm sure it's an oversight you'd like to correct. I'm aware it takes a while to process a price change but perhaps metric units can be adopted at the next price review whenever that is.

Can you adopt metric units for all official fees and charges within, say, the next two years?

Yours faithfully,

David Johnson
