Dear Ms Houston
Request made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000
I am writing to confirm that NHS Dorset has now completed the search for the
information you requested on 16 October regarding non medical staff with criminal
convictions. Taking your questions in order I now provide the following information:
Question 1:
I would like to know how many of your non medical staff currently employed by
Dorset Primary Care Trust have criminal convictions.
Response:
This information is not held.
In line with the CRB Code of Practice, NHS Dorset is unable to retain disclosure
information. Once the recruitment and selection decision has been made, the Trust
is required to destroy disclosure information obtained.
From section 3 of the code of practice:
Registered bodies must:
3. retain disclosure information, its content or any representation of the same
in any format for no longer than is necessary and for a maximum of six
months following the recruitment decision unless a dispute is raised or, in
exceptional circumstances, where CRB agreement is secured;
4. Ensure that no reproductions of the Disclosure or its content are made,
including photocopies or scanned images, unless with the prior agreement of
the CRB or as a result of a stipulated requirement relating to the e-channel
service
Question 2:
Could you please provide a detailed account of the type of offences that were
committed?
Chair – Jacqueline Swift Interim Chief Executive – Suzanne Rastrick
Response:
Please see the response to Question 1.
I trust this is the information you are seeking and that your request has been fully
discharged.
If you are unhappy with this response, you are entitled to request an internal review
of our decision, handled where possible by a member of staff not directly involved in
the initial decision. If you wish to request such a review, please write direct to The
Interim Chief Executive, NHS Dorset, 3rd Floor, West Wing, Vespasian House,
Bridport Road, Dorchester DT1 1TS. We aim to deal with requests for internal
review within three weeks of receipt, although where the issues involved are very
complicated this period may be extended up to a total of six weeks.
If you have queries about this response, please do not hesitate to contact me
quoting the above reference number and I shall be pleased to offer any further
assistance that you may require.
Yours sincerely
