Non Mainstream Schoools
Dear Reading Borough Council,
Mainstream school is clarified in Section 83 Children a& Families Act as a school which is not a special school and is either a maintained school or an Academy.
Please provide a table that shows the following for the current academic year:
1) names of all non mainstream secondary schools that have RBC children with EHCP's on roll on a non residential basis and / or non waking day curriculum
2) "type" of school (eg non maintained special, section 41, independent etc etc)
3) Number of children with EHCP's currently on roll and what their primary SEN i
4) what the maximum class size is at this school
5) which GCSEs are provided at KS4

FREEDOM OF INFORMATION REQUEST
Thank you for your recent request received by the Council on 23rd of
February 2024.
You have requested the following information under the provisions of the

Our response is as follows:
Please see the attached table of children and young people with EHC Plans
by need. GCSE subjects provided by each or any of the schools listed are
already publicly available on the school websites and are not our
information, but information belonging to each of the schools identified.
On the Reading Borough Council Website there is a publication scheme where
you can [1]search previous Freedom of Information requests that have been
responded to, to locate an answer to a future FOI request.
If you are unhappy with this response to your request for information
under the Freedom of Information Act then you may ask for an internal
review. Please make a request in writing to the Information Governance

content with its outcome, then you have a right to apply directly to the
