Dear Tyne and Wear Passenger Transport Executive,

Under the Freedom of Information Act, please provide me with information around any penalties issued by Nexus, to operators, for non-compliance of contract.

1) Please provide details of any penalties served on bus operators during the last two financial years. This should include;
- Operator
- Service
- Category of penalty (e.g. wrong vehicle type)
- Size of fine (in £ sterling)

2) Please provide details of any non-compliance which didn't result in a fine. This should include:
- Operator
- Service
- Category of penalty (e.g. wrong vehicle type)
- Reason for not issuing a fine
- Details of any alternative action taken

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your e-mail which has been forwarded to me as the person responsible for responding to FOI requests on behalf of Nexus.

Following the numbering in your e-mail;

1.I attach reports which show the penalty value incurred by operator for each individual contract for each of the 4-weekly financial periods over the past two years. Unfortunately it is recorded by contract number and not service number as the information is not held in the format requested.

2.Such circumstances do not apply since Nexus will always issue a fine for non-compliance.
