Dear Ms Savage,

Freedom of Information Request

Further to your request for information about Non-attendance fines

I can tell you the following:

 1. How many penalty notices/fines were issued to parents due to their
children missing school without good reason in the 2015/2016 school
year?   1579
 2. The total amount (£) worth of penalty notices/fines issued to parents
due to their children missing school without good reason in the
2015/2016 school year? – If all PNs were paid then the sum expected
would be £94,740. However not all are paid and some we progress to
legal action.
 3. The number of penalty notice/fines that were withdrawn following a
challenge/appeal by a parent in the 2015/2016 school year

We had a total of 78 withdrawn in 15/16 but not for an appeal, challenge
or complaint. These would be due to other circumstances
