Frecknall, Helen, Isle of Wight Council

Dear Mr Bridge

Thank you for your request for information which was received by the Isle
of Wight Council on 4 August 2020.

This request is being handled under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

Section 12 of the Act makes provision for public authorities to refuse
requests for information where the cost of dealing with them would exceed
the appropriate limit, which for local authorities is £450. This
represents the estimated cost of one person spending 18 hours in
determining whether the council holds the information, including locating,
retrieving and extracting the information.

In order to provide you with the information on the scale that you have
requested would require a manual search of each noise complaint covering
the dates of your request, which we believe would exceed the 18 hour
limit. I therefore regret that we are unable to deal with all of your
request.  Please see requested information, I can provide, in bold  below:

1. The number of complaints about noise made for the following periods

2020 - Apr 49/May 61/Jun 72

2019 - Apr 61/May 50/Jun 51

2. The number of complaints about noise  made for the following periods
which could be considered a 'statutory nuisance'

Apr/May/Jun 2020 As above

Apr/May/Jun 2019 As above

3. The number of abatement notices served for the following periods Unable
to provide as this would take longer than 18 hours to search for the
information.

Apr/May/Jun 2020

Apr/May/Jun 2019

4. The number of people prosecuted for not complying with an abatement
notice for the following periods

Apr/May/Jun 2020 0
