No more access to on-street parking
Dear Wandsworth Borough Council,
I am owner of a flat in Garratt Lane, close to Southside Shopping Centre. When I first bought my flat in 2015, I had a car and it was very important for me that my flat is included in CPZ. Since the beginning of the pandemic, I no longer have a car. Recently, I found out from my neighbours who do have a car that you have informed them that they no longer have access on on-street parking and you have asked them to return their parking permits. Further enquiries confirmed that our building no longer has access to on-street parking due to our leaseholder signing a contract with the Council last year that excluded us from the CPZ.
None of the flat owners were consulted about this decision or informed of it beforehand. I am upset and disappointed that the Council proposed and signed off such a huge change to its constituents without any advanced notification or consultation. We all believe that this has dramatically reduced our flats' value, both selling and rental.
Please can you consider reversing this decision? Please can you also advise me, as your constituent of what we could do in order to have our rights back and included in CPZ again?
Yours faithfully,
Nevena
