NHS Agency Workers
Dear Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust,
I am writing with a request under the Freedom of Information Act. Could I ask the following, please?
1. For the financial years 22/23 and 23/24, how much did the trust spend on agency shifts for doctors (ranging from consultants to junior doctors), nurses and midwives?
2. For the same financial years, how many shifts did this represent? Please provide a breakdown of how many of these agency shifts were for doctors, how many were for nurses and how many were for midwives.
3. Please detail how many of these shifts exceeded the maximum hourly rate of 55% above a worker's basic substantive pay rate.
4. Of those shifts that exceeded the caps, please detail the cost of the most expensive shifts for an agency doctor, agency nurse and agency midwife.
I am happy to discuss this further and thanks in advance for your consideration.
Yours faithfully,
Fraser Knight
