News Aggregation services

The request was successful.

Dear Department for Culture, Media and Sport,

I would like to know exactly how much has been spent in the last 3 financial years on News aggregation services. These include media
monitoring, press clippings and News and Business research.

Could you kindly break this down by supplier/vendor clearly showing annual costs associated with each agreement.

Yours faithfully,

Phil Rycraft

Dear Department for Culture, Media and Sport,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Culture, Media and Sport's handling of my FOI request 'News Aggregation services'.

Although the departments response provides details on media monitoring and press clippings it does not cover all News aggregation services. This should extend to news alerting products and subscriptions as per the original request.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Yours faithfully,

Phil Rycraft

Dear Mr Rycraft,

Thank you for your email requesting an internal review of the Department’s
Freedom of Information response (ref: 247058) sent to you on the 14^th
April.

In order to ensure cases are looked at afresh, internal reviews of freedom
of information decisions are carried out in our department by officials
unconnected to the previous case handling.  I was therefore asked to
consider your appeal.

Your original request was for, “…how much has been spent in the last 3
financial years on News aggregation services. These include media
monitoring, press clippings and News and Business research” and the
department provided you with details of suppliers and expenditure for the
period you requested. Subsequently you have stated “Although the
department’s response provides details on media monitoring and press
clippings it does not cover all News aggregation services. This should
extend to news alerting products and subscriptions as per the original
request.”

Having reviewed our original response and considered whether all of the
information the Department held within scope of your request was
disclosed, I am satisfied that this case was dealt with correctly. The
services listed in the original response are all those that DCMS pays for
and as such, there is no further information we can provide.

If you are not content with the outcome of the internal review, you have
the right to apply directly to the Information Commissioner for a
decision. The Information Commissioner can be contacted at: Information
Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9
5AF

Yours sincerely,
