New Work Coaches

Linda Burnip made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Work and Pensions

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

The government’s response to the UN inquiry into the UK which found that disabled people’s Human rights were being gravely and systematically violated states that “All work coaches are trained to support people with complex needs, including disabled people and around 1500 newly recruited work coaches are working towards an externally recognised professional accreditation. Jobcentre Plus also employs over 200 disability employment advisers, with an additional 300 being recruited.”
1.Please tell me what training the 1500 newly recruited work coaches will have? How long that training will last? Who is providing the training? And which professional body provides accreditation?

2. 60% of Disability Employment Advisors posts in Job Centres have been lost in the recent years (http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/pol... )
if you now plan to recruit more please tell me what training they will have, how long will their training last and who will provide that training?

Yours faithfully,

Linda Burnip
