Thank you for your email dated Tuesday 14^th November 2023, which was
received by West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service on the same day
requesting the following information:

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service acknowledges receipt of your
request and confirms that it will respond to you with the information it
holds, unless the information is covered by one of the exemptions in the

Our response

 

West Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service have now completed our search for the
information you requested. We have answered each part of your request in
turn below.

 

Station Allocation for new Scania Appliance?

Of our 40 stations, 34 will be provided with the Scania appliances. The
six remaining stations will be provided with new MAN 4x4 appliances, those
being at Slaithwaite, Todmorden, Meltham, Ilkley, Mytholmroyd and
Holmfirth. A full list of our stations can be found on our website

Estimated length of time before going operational?

The first batch of Scania appliances will be delivered in January 2024,
with the expectation of the first ones being on the run at Leeds and
Bradford in February 2024.

 

How long will it be operational before decision is made regarding further
purchase?

The decision has already been taken to replace the entire fleet with
Scania appliances to the same design as our concept, except for the 6 MAN
4x4’s as above.
