Here is some useful information contained in the Privacy Impact Assessment for the Supervised Jobsearch Pilot Scheme:

"The Minister for Employment signed the Jobseeker’s Allowance (Supervised Jobsearch Pilot Scheme) (Employment Officers) Designation Order on 1 October 2014 (coming into force from 6 October 2014). The Designation Order gives the SJP providers Employment Officer Status. The impact of providers having this status is that they are able to mandate claimants to attend job interviews / apply for job vacancies. If claimants do not comply providers will provide evidence that could lead to a high level benefit sanction for up to three years."
