Mogg, Trevor, Bexley Borough Council

Dear Mr Farnet

Thank you for your recent freedom of information request concerning
government savings.

Your request has been considered and our response is shown below.

The London Borough of Bexley has been planning for a reduction in
government grant since before the election. A report was made to our
Cabinet in February of this year that set out a process through which all
services are being reviewed in order that the necessary savings can be
achieved. A copy of the report is available via the following link
[1]http://democracy.bexley.gov.uk/mgConvert... .
Appendix 6 deals with the Medium Term Financial Strategy.

With regard to planned savings until the government publishes details of
its spending review later in the Autumn when the scale of budget
reductions required should be clearer we are unable to provide the
requested information. Information that is held is exempted under section
36 of the act as its release at this stage could be prejudicial to the
effective conduct of public affairs.

If you are dissatisfied with the handling of your request please contact
the FOI Review Officer by email to [Bexley Borough Council request email]
