Freedom of Information Act response – ref FOI-202307000557
Dear Susan Russell,
Your request for information, reference number FOI-202307000557, has now
been considered and the information requested is given below.
Request and Response
In May 2023 the council advertised for staff following a private security
company no longer being contracted to carry out this function and the
council deciding to employ an in-house team.
1. Please provide details of any change in the name of the enforcement
team and any department in overall charge of the team.
2. Please provide details of the number of enforcement officers that will
form part of the new team including any supervisors.
3. Please provide a job description and also details of any specific
training to carry out the role.
Thank you for your request. Please be advised that no decision at present
has been taken in regard to this matter.
Dear Peterborough City Council,
Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.
I am writing to request an internal review of Peterborough City Council's handling of my FOI request 'New City Centre Enforcement Team'.
It is not possible that you do not have any information regarding the 3 simple questions asked especially in that you have apparently already advertised and recruited staff.
Apparently you had no information concerning the trial period of security officers conducting this role for 6 months so are unable to evaluate whether the trial was successful or not.
There must be extreme levels of incompetence involved in the waste of tax payers money to pay those responsible for managing the city centre enforcement team.
I don't accept that you do not have this information, please revisit this request.
I will publish this on local social media, totally unnaceptable.
A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...
Yours faithfully,
Susan Russell

Freedom of Information Act Request INT-202307000557
Dear Susan Russell,
You have requested (your email of 24 August 2023) an internal review.
Your concern was regarding our initial response to your FOI request as
below:-
It is not possible that you do not have any information regarding the 3
simple questions asked especially in that you have apparently already
advertised and recruited staff.
I can confirm that the council’s legal department has carried out an
internal review. As part of that review the legal department has seen all
the correspondence relating to your information request and considered the
applicable legislation before providing advice in this matter.
This letter forms the council’s formal response to your request for a
review. For ease of reference, the details of the initial request for
information and the council’s response are set out below. I will then
confirm the findings of my review.
The initial request
In your email of July 25, 2023 you asked for the following information:
Dear Peterborough City Council,

team and any department in overall charge of the team.
2. Please provide details of the number of enforcement officers that will
form part of the new team including any supervisers.
3. Please provide a job description and also details of any specific
training to carry out the role.
The council’s response to the initial request
