We write with regard to your recent enquiry for information held by the Council under 
the provisions of the Freedom of Information Act 2000.

council tenant for the following financial years : 
 
1) 2018-2019 
2) 2019-2020 
3) 2020-2021 
4) 2021-2022

Response 
 
Please  can  you  provide  the  figures  for  the  net  annual  rent  arrears  per  secure  LBN 
council tenant for the following financial years: 
 
1) 2018-2019 = £70.92 
2) 2019-2020 = £139.79 
3) 2020-2021 = £169.07 
4) 2021-2022 = £192.80 
5) 2022-2023 = £224.24 
  
The  figures  provided  are  for  Secure  tenancies  and  Introductory  tenancies,  which 
convert  to  secure  tenancies  following  the  introductory  period.    The  figures  include 
properties  in  Newham's  housing  stock,  which  are  managed  by  Newham  Council, 
under a private finance Initiative contract, or via a tenancy management organisation. 
  
The net figures requested includes cases where residents have a zero balance or are 
in credit on their account. 
  
All other tenure types have been excluded from these figures.
