"Near Death" experiences

Darryl J Lee (Mr.)

Dear Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust,

I remember several years ago that The John Radcliffe Hospital was involved in an investigation into what was described as "near-death" or "out-of-body" experiences.
The experimental investigation in basic terms involved (without patients knowing) the placing of cards with symbols on their face on top of cupboards and shelves (not visible at head-height) in parts of the hospital where patients often die and / or are often revived where then those patients who expressed a concern that they had experienced an about-of-body or near-death experience [commonly said to "float above" their body "at ceiling height"] would be questioned (with consent) about the symbols they saw while floating at ceiling height that they could have had no knowledge of. (Thus proving they had floated above their own body while dead).

Please disclose the results of that experiment / investigation and any subsequent investigation into so-called "Near-death" (or "At death" experiences at The JR Hospital.

Yours faithfully,

Darryl J Lee (Mr.)

Dear FOIA (RTH) OUH,

Hi. I do not recall the precise dates.

In effect what I am requesting was the conclusion(s) of that investigation. (E.g. A statement that 69 persons had expressed a near-death experience and 49 of those persons correctly / incorrectly identified the hidden symbols).

If you are incapable of locating the exact experiment without the precise date(s), please disclose details (Conclusions) of any experiments concerned with "near-death" / "at-death" / "out-of-body" experiences of patients at the JR Hospital.

Yours sincerely,

Darryl J Lee (Mr.)
