Dear College of Policing Limited,

Good morning,

I believe that your response to my request is now overdue. I would be grateful if you could now process my request and respond without further undue delay,

Regards

Yours faithfully,

Alan Wright

Dear College of Policing Limited,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of College of Policing Limited's handling of my FOI request 'National Undercover Scrutiny Panel'.

[ The original request is nearly 2 weeks overdue and no apology or explanation has been offered. My polite, gentle reminder remains unanswered and unacknowledged. I am therefore left with no alternative but to request an Internal Review into why my request is so overdue and why my subsequent communication appears to have been ignored. I trust that this request will not meet the same fate.]

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Yours faithfully,

Alan Wright

Rachel Claughton,

Dear Mr Wright

Are you able to provide me with a contact telephone number so I can call
you to say sorry for our delayed response, explain the current situation
and give you an expectation of when you should expect a full reply

Thank you

Rachel

Dear Rachel Claughton,

Good afternoon, unfortunately I do not feel that I want to supply you with a contact number, so if you do not feel able to reply here I'll just have to await your eventual response.

Thank you for the contact.

Yours sincerely,

Alan Wright

Rachel Claughton,

Thank you for such a prompt reply Mr Wright

As there are 12 points to your request we need some time to gather this information. This process has been started but we have yet to gather all the answers for you.

In the first 3 months of 2015 the College has also experienced a 50 percent increase in the number of FOI requests when compared to last years numbers. We are currently recruiting staff to address this.

We have been liaising with the Information Commissioners Office to advise them of our circumstances.

At this time I anticipate we will be able to answer your request by the end of next week.

Please let me know if I can help any further

Dear Rachel Claughton,

Thank you very much, an early explanation would have satisfied me, instead seemed like my 'reminder' was being ignored.

Once again, thank you

College FOI,

Our Reference:
IR-2015-0003-WRIGHT_NATIONAL_UNDER_COVER_SCRUTINY_PANEL

Date:                        28 May 2015

Dear Mr Wright,

Thank you for your email dated 28^th April 2015, requesting an internal
review of the way in which your Freedom of Information Act 2000 (or ‘FoIA
2000’) request dated 15^th March 2015 has been handled.

We recognise the personal effort it takes to draft a formal request for
information held by a public body and the level of expectation that the
public body will a) respond to that request within the statutory
timescales and b) provide the requested information.  We also recognise
that the College of Policing has regretfully not respond to your request
within the statutory deadlines (which it is noted is a s10 breach of the
FoIA 2000). However, it is as a result of the sensitivities of the
information requested that we are of the view that it is imperative that
the College of Policing provides a response, which is transparent but also
safeguards against inappropriate disclosure.

Further (and as confirmed by T/Inspector Claughton on the 30^th April
2015), your request has unfortunately formed part of a back-log of
requests as a result of the College receiving a significant increase in
the number of Freedom of Information Act 2000 requests. Whilst we welcome
this level of public engagement and interest in the work and activities of
the College of Policing, this sudden in-flux in demand has created a mini
back-log, which we are actively addressing through the appointment and
training of staff.

I can, therefore, confirm that the College of Policing were in breach of
s10 of the FoIA 2000 in terms of not providing you a response within the
statutory deadlines.

May I take this opportunity to thank you once again for your interest in
the College of Policing. Your attention is drawn to the complaints policy
below.

Kindest Regards
