National Citizen Service

The request was refused by Cabinet Office.

Dear Cabinet Office,
I am interested in the numbers of 15 - 17 year olds who enrolled in the National Citizen Service in total and in each of the regions from start up of the service, and the appointment of the 19 regional lead organisations to 2015, and the cost per region of each of the regional schemes.
For this purpose can you please supply the initial estimated number of volunteers for each region agreed with the lead organisations, and the number of volunteers who actually participated in each year. In addition the agreed sum spent in each region on the scheme.
On the 20th September 2012 when the scheme was announced the total of all contracts was valued at £200million of which an allowance was made for £10million of administration costs. Can the department confirm the actual expenditure on the scheme and the actual administration costs since these were agreed to be capped by the organisations at 5% of the scheme. (Ref.
Yours faithfully,
