Names of suicide victims
Dear Ministry of Justice,
Please provide the following information for all deaths recorded as suicide or flagged as suspected suicide pending inquest. Please put the informaton into an excel document as follows:
Column 1: First Name
Column 2 Middle name if on record
Column 3: Family Name
Column 4: Sex (M/F)
Column 5: Date of Birth
Column 6: Date of Death
Column 7: Suicide Verdict Reached / Suicide Suspected Pending Inquest
For the avoidance of any doubt, the GDPR position on personally identifiable information relating to the deceased is as follows as decscribed by the ICO.
"The GDPR only applies to information which relates to an identifiable living individual. Information relating to a deceased person does not constitute personal data and therefore is not subject to the GDPR."

Dear Ellis,
Thank you for the reply, however this response seems unfeasible. Withouth the names of those involved in inquests, you could not carry out an inquest. Please advise who does store these data records if it is not MoJ so that I can place a Freedom of Information request with them, however my understanding is that the Coroner falls within the MoJ umbrella so your response leads me to beleive that MoJ has a reason for not wishing its data to be scrutinised and is rejecting the FoI on that basis.
