Names of LA maintained schools with proven financial irregulairies since September 2011

J Downs made this Freedom of Information request to Department for Education

This request has been closed to new correspondence from the public body. Contact us if you think it ought be re-opened.

The request was partially successful.

Dear Department for Education,

On Newsnight 25 October 2013 a DfE spokesperson said there were more financial scandals at LA maintained schools than in free schools. I should be grateful if you could release the number and names of LA maintained schools where proven financial irregularities have taken place since September 2011 when the first free schools opened.

Yours faithfully,

J Downs

Dear Department for Education,

2013/0067382

The response to my request for the names of LA maintained schools with proven financial regularities since September 2011 is overdue. You should have, by law, responded promptly and by 22 November 2013.

I should be grateful if you could send me a response.

If there are no such schools, I should be grateful if you could let me know.

Yours faithfully,

J Downs

Dear Department for Education

2013/0067382

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Department for Education's handling of my FOI request 'Names of LA maintained schools with proven financial irregularities since September 2011'.

On 26 October 2013 I asked the DfE to release the number and names of LA maintained schools where proven financial irregularities have taken place since September 2011 when the first free schools opened.

I should have received a response by 22 November 2013. I did not. I prompted the DfE to send a reply on 23 November 2013.

I still have not yet received a reply. Would it be safe to assume there are no LA maintained schools with proven financial irregularities since September 2011?

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/n...

Yours faithfully,
