Dear Freedom of Information,

Thank you for your response to my request.

You say that you have made no payments to PPL and yet on their
website they say:
"If your business plays recorded music or music videos in public –
including radio or TV – you will almost certainly be legally
required to have a PPL licence".

Please can you tell me why NHS Ayrshire and Arran isn't required to have a PPL
licence?

Yours sincerely,

Dorothy Lewis

Freedom of Information, Ayrshire and Arran NHS Board

Good morning,

I am sorry we should have explained in our original response we were in discussions with PPL to agree the appropriate licence payment, and the sum of £22,006.61 was paid to PPL on 27 September 2016, covering periods back to 2011. The charge for the period closest to the original question, 1 September 2015 to 1 September 2016, was £4,606.86.

Kind regards,

Ann
