MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics application statistics
Dear University of Oxford,
I would like to request your information that you hold on the number of UK applicants you received for your course on MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics, and to contrast this to the number of international applicants. Additionally, if possible could you indicate what their average grades were (percentage score if possible, otherwise degree classification), and from which university these were associated with? I am most interested in the the year 2019-2020 as I cannot find this data elsewhere, whereas similar data has been provided for 2015-16 up to 2018-2019.
Yours faithfully,
Juan Wilkes
Dear Mr Wilkes,
Thank you for your Freedom of Information request.
Subject to any clarification required, the University will aim to reply to your request within the statutory deadline of 20 working days, starting from the day after receipt of your request. Please note that several University departments are under considerable strain because of pressures from the Covid-19 crisis. If your request involves one of these departments, we may find it difficult to respond by the statutory deadline. If we anticipate a delay, we will write to you nearer to the deadline to inform you of the position.
Yours sincerely,

Dear Oxford,
Thank you for your reply. I do apologise, I completely forgot to add in one very important detail to the original request, and I hope it's not too late. I had asked for the "number of applicants" and while I still would like to see that please, it somehow slipped my mind to add in as part of that request the wording "and offers". The latter being a fairly crucial detail! Editing my original statement, it becomes "I would like to request your information that you hold on the number of UK applicants and offers for your course on MSc in Mathematical and Theoretical Physics, and to contrast this to the number of international applicants and offers." Just to be as clear as I can, if for instance you received 'X' applicants from the UK, then there would be subsequently some 'Y' offers being made to them - and these values of 'Y' are quite important.
I'm really sorry if it is too late, but hopefully by replying to your acknowledgement now my request can be amended without an issue.
Yours sincerely,
Juan Wilkes
