Dear Her Majesty’s Treasury,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Her Majesty’s Treasury's handling of my FOI request 'MP Briefing notes'.

On 30/11/18 I asked the following question:
"Can I please have a copy of the briefing notes provided to MP John Glen for the Westminster Hall debate on 20th November regarding the 2019 Loan Charge?"

I received an auto acknowledgment that same day then further acknowledgement on 03/12/18.
On 02/01/19 I received an interim acknowledgement informing me they would be taking an additional 20 working days to consider my request.

On 30/01/19 I received another notification informing me they would be taking an additional 20 working days - a total of 60 working days that should have taken us until 28/02/19.

It is now 06/03/19. 84 working days since I submitted my Freedom of Information request and 44 working days since the last contact from HM Treasury in relation to this request.
As this policy is already legislation I fail to see how the exemption 35 (1)(a) formation of government policy applies especially when balanced against the public interest of disclosure of this information at this time.

In light of the excessive amount of time taken by HM Treasury in delaying this request I would appreciate a prompt turn around with this internal review. If I have to escalate this to the ICO I would like to be able to do that before 05/04/2019.

A full history of my FOI request and all correspondence is available on the Internet at this address: https://www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/m...

Yours faithfully,

Mr A Sea

Dear Her Majesty’s Treasury,

This Freedom of Information request was publicly submitted on the 20th of November 2018 - over 4 months ago. The law states that you must respond within 20 working days, it has now been 78 working days since I submitted this request and I have yet to receive the response to this question.

This is completely unacceptable, this request is long overdue and there is no reasonable explanation why this is being deliberately delayed by Her Majesty's Treasury.

Yours faithfully,

Mr A Sea

Dear FOI Requests,

My original request was submitted on the 30/11/2018 to which I have still not received a response.

The outcome of the internal review I received on the 03/04/2019 stated "I can confirm that progress has been made with your FOI request and a substantive response will be issued by the end of this week." That would have made this response due on the 5/04/2019. It is now the 21/04/2019.

I would like to request another Internal review into HM Treasury's handling of this request.

Yours sincerely,

Mr Sea
