Mouth of the Tyne ticketed festival
Dear Newcastle Upon Tyne, North Tyneside and Northumberland Combined Authority,
I have spotted this North of Tyne Combined Authority delegated decision which awarded a grant of £68,000 to the Mouth of the Tyne festival (tickets £49.50). Please provide all information which sets out how this grant was able to comply with the subsidy control rules.

Dear Ginny
Thank you for your Freedom of Information Request. Our response is shown
below.
Following your FOI request, we can confirm that the Delegated Decision
Report referenced relates to the Mouth of the Tyne ‘Collective 23’. It
approved the awarding of £60,000 of UKSPF funding, to North Tyneside
Council to fund a range of additional projects outside of the main ‘Mouth
of the Tyne Festival’ weekend including providing support to local
businesses. The additional £8,000 out of the total amount referenced in
the report was ‘Match’ funding from North Tyneside Council.
The proposed subsidy compliance route for any support to enterprises, is
the Minimal Financial Assistance (“MFA”) provisions under Section 36 of
the Subsidy Control Act.
Any ticketing and pricing for the Mouth of the Tyne Festival, was not
funded by the North of Tyne Combined Authority but by North Tyneside
Council. If you would like further information, please contact North
Tyneside Council directly.
