Motorhome Parking
Dear Sir/Madam,
I am contacting all county councils in the UK in order to obtain
information to create a database of parking areas which are or are
not accessible by drivers of motorhomes. My aim is to provide a
resource for the whole country which will enable motorhome drivers
to find appropriate facilities easily whilst at the same time
directing them away from areas where problems might be caused by
vehicle size.
Particular items of information especially relevant are:
1. Height restrictions.
2. Requirements for parking within bay confines (including any
requirement for purchasing two parking tickets where the length of
a vehicle means that it overhangs a second bay at its rear).
3. Any provision of toilet and waste disposal facilities.
4. Any provision of spaces specifically aimed at motorhomes and/or
caravans.
5. Any provision for (or ban on) overnight parking.
6. Restricted access caused by narrow roads/entrances.
If your council does not hold the information requested please pass
on this request to the appropriate borough/district/city councils
which do hold the information.
Regards,
Pete Treanor
Thank you for your Freedom of Information/Environmental Information Regulations request.
In normal circumstances we will provide a response within 20 working days of receiving your
request.
There may be some instances where we will need to contact you in the order to clarify parts of your
request or where the cost of dealing with your request is excessive due to the time involved in
collating the information. If this is the case we will help you to narrow the request to take it under
any cost limit.
There may also be a small number of occasions where we may need to extend the 20 day deadline. We will
aim to inform you if this is likely.
