Mortar Attack on SF base in Keady 8th Mar 93
Dear Police Service of Northern Ireland,
I am requesting the reports prior to and post attack, regarding the mortar attack on Keady SF base, Co Armagh, 8/3/93, any reports compiled at the time by what was the RUC, what other agencies were involved and details of injured civilians and details of deceased.
Any statements recorded post incident and details of those arrested post incident, and or list of areas where possible defendants may have come from.
I am attempting to gain further information regarding this incident as I am compiling my memoirs due to the fact I was involved in the incident whilst serving as a member of the security forces at the time.

I write in connection with your request for information dated 25th
December 2018 which was received by the Police Service of Northern Ireland
(PSNI) on 25th December 2018. I note you seek access to the following
information:
Mortar Attack on SF Base, Keady 8th March 1993
This request will be dealt with under the terms of the Freedom of
Information Act 2000. A response should be sent to you within 20 working
days however I would like to advise you that PSNI are currently
experiencing a delay in the processing of requests and we aim to respond
to your request as soon as possible.
If your request is unclear and clarification is required the 20 day
legislative time limit dictated by the Freedom of Information Act 2000
will be stopped until we receive clarification of your request. The ICO
guidance at paragraph 40 of the link below sets out that the clock begins
anew the day after the clarification is received. It states
“If the requester subsequently provides enough detail to enable the
authority to identify and locate the information, then the authority must
respond to the clarified request within a new 20 working day time limit
with the ‘clock’ starting the day after it receives the required
clarification. “

In the event where the cost of complying with the request would exceed the
“appropriate level”, which is fixed at £450, as stated in the Freedom of
Information Regulations 2004, it is the policy of the PSNI to close the
request. You will however be notified of this decision and given an
opportunity to refine and resubmit the request.
If your request requires either full or partial transference to another
public authority in order to answer your query, again, you will be
notified.

request you may make a complaint, under Section 50 of the Freedom of
Information Act, to the Information Commissioner’s Office and ask that
they investigate whether the PSNI has complied with the terms of the
Freedom of Information Act. You can write to the Information Commissioner
at Information Commissioner’s Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane,
Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF. In most circumstances the Information
Commissioner will not investigate a complaint unless an internal review
procedure has been carried out, however the Commissioner has the option to
investigate the matter at his discretion.

To enable the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) to meet your

Your request is seeking ‘reports’ prior to and post mortar attack at Keady
SF Base, Co Armagh, on 8th March 1993.
The Freedom of Information Act relates to ‘information’ and not documents
or reports and as such the request does not fulfil the requirements of
Section 8(c) under the FOI Act, as the request does not specify exactly
what information is being requested.
Can you please clarify the exact information you are seeking i.e.
Investigating Officer’s Report, statements, intelligence, etc

Dear Police Service of Northern Ireland,
The information I would like is any intelligence or statements made prior to the attack that indicated what type of attack was expected, possible forces and which group was initially identified,area,particular skills.
Any investigation information gained once intelligence was received and worked on, what information was passed on and to whom, what information was gathered post attack and who were the individuals arrested, what were the vehicles used in the attack?
Could I also have copies of the statements made by witnesses and suspects, were any of the suspects later arrested for similar attacks prior to or post the Keady attack.

Dear Police Service of Northern Ireland,
I would like the details of what statements were taken, from whom, what was disclosed, what evidence was gained both physical and written, post attack, what arrests were made and who were they and were they linked or convicted of similar or same offences.
What intelligence was known by RUC prior to attack, ASU's identified as suspects, what vehicles were identified either before or post attack, details of type of devices, contents, was the maker known and how viable were the devices and if any blinds identified what the issues were for them not initiating. Other than the deceased who else was injured and to what extent were their injuries, can I also have a copy of the duty log/report of the RUC officers present at Keady RUC station at the time of the attack.
How many suspects were arrested, where were they from(county, affiliations) if charged or not and what was the reason for not being charged(lack of evidence, forensic or visual, verbal)was there any cctv, photographic stills made of the attack (vehicles,damage/impacts, photographic supplements of any evidence.
