Dear Ceredigion Council,
Many thanks I received the following information recently from Ceredigion County Council and it has been really useful:

"Within the bounds of the Penparcau Ward there are 1315 households on the Council Tax register.
396 claim Council Tax benefit.
513 have a Council Tax related discount
51 are exempt from Council Tax."

It's been really useful in respect to our project.
We wonder if you could possibly help us with a little more information that you hold as the authority responsible for collecting the council tax, feeding banding data into the VOA and dealing with electoral information in the area.

As an aggregated number what are the bands of the properties in the previously mentioned ward in respect of the council tax?

As total amounts, could you provide, the total amount for these/this ward in regard to the amount paid to the County Council in council tax. The total amount paid to the local community or town council in regard to total precept.

Abertidy left an annotation ()

It appears that this has now taken over a month to deal with, and "By law, Ceredigion Council should normally have responded promptly and by 26 August 2014 (details)"

Bearing in mind that you have the data, based on the data that was previously sent to me I would have expected the provision of the information that I had asked for within the legal time frame that is stipulated for FOI requests.

Could I ask that the information is provided by Friday the 5th of September. I think that the best thing to do after this date is to contact the Information Commissioner in order that they might be able to take appropriate action.

We would be able to provide the amount paid by Penparcau households but
this would not give a breakdown of how much is allocated to Ceredigion
County Council and Aberystwyth Town Council. The town and parish councils
receive their full precept in April for the forthcoming year and
Aberystwyth Town Council received £249,379.18 for 2014/15.
