Dear Caerphilly Council,
Under the Freedom of Information Act could you please supply me with the total costs for the 'monument' that has been erected in Pengam 'Park' (at the junction of traffic lights by Lewis Boys School). Also, how was this funded?
Dear Mr. Rogers,
FREEDOM OF INFORMATION ACT 2000 - INFORMATION REQUEST
Thank you for your request for information received on the 8th September 2010.
The sculpture at Glan y Nant forms part of an environmental enhancement scheme that was shaped following feedback from the local community and the local school.
The Council applied for an environmental improvement grant to improve the site and commissioned an artist following a thorough interviewing and selection process.
The construction and installation of the statue at Glan y Nant was funded by a grant from Resource Efficiency Wales totalling £30,000.
The artist worked at length with the local school and the community and after a number of consultation sessions received planning status in November 2008.
The construction and erection of the art piece took place on Sunday 9th May, 2010.
We supply this information based on your original request. If this is not what you wanted or if you feel we have not fully understood your request please do not hesitate to contact me to clarify your exact requirements.
If you have any queries or concerns or are in any way dissatisfied with the handling of your request please contact me.
