Dear Derbyshire County Council,

Please pass this on to the person who conducts Freedom of Information reviews.

I am writing to request an internal review of Derbyshire County Council's handling of my FOI request 'Monthly labour hours on actual rights of way maintenance (excluding admin) Apl-Sept 2018'.

Dear Sir / Madam

Freedom of Information Request Rejected

I am fully aware of the budgetary constraints under which the County Council now operate, not least in the Rights of Way department.

There is, as you know, a statutory duty to maintain rights of way along with other highways, and I have sought to discover via a Freedom of Information Request what actual work in the field has been carried out in this excellent summer - in the light of budgetary reductions.

It was with some incredulity that I received the FOI reply that data was not held to respond to my request.

I cannot understand how a department can be effectively managed without this sort of information being readily available for monitoring or auditing.

This causes me, not least as a council tax payer, some concern – and before taking this issue further I should be grateful if you would review what I regard as a totally inadequate response.

Requested that the (overdue) Rights of Way Improvement Plan include database revision to allow Rights of Way maintenance work to be effectively recorded and monitored. County Councillor asked to enquire on progress.
