Dear Department for Work and Pensions,

In response to concerns raised by the media, MPs and members of the House of Lords regarding the changes to Bereavement Payment, coming into force on 6 April 2017, the DWP has stated that it will monitor the new Bereavement Support Payment.

RFI1 – Please disclose what data the DWP will be collecting to monitor the new bereavement support allowance?

RFI2 – Please disclose the methodology/approach that the DWP will use to monitor the new bereavement support allowance?

RFI2 – Did the DWP carry out any impact assessments prior to making the changes to the bereavement payment benefit? If so please disclose them.
