Dear Forestry Commission,
I would like a 2017/2018 (April-April) breakdown of the all the money that came in from Mountain Biking eg: Event Rider Levy, Car Park, Uplift, Cafe, Cycle Hire, Sponsorship vs money spent on trail maintenance.
Yours faithfully,
Alan Grist

SecEng, Forestry Commission

Dear Mr Grist,

Thank you for your request for information on cycling income and
expenditure on trail maintenance for the 2017-18 financial year.

The Freedom of Information Act gives a right to information held by a
public body at the time a request is received, unless one of the available
exemptions to disclose is applied.  Where information is not held by a
public body there is no requirement to create the information in order to
answer a question or request, the only requirement is for the person
requesting the information to be advised that the information is not
held.

The information that you have requested is not held by Forestry Commission
England. Expenditure on mountain bike trails is recorded in overall
expenditure on trails infrastructure maintenance and our financial systems
do not enable us to identify expenditure on dedicated mountain bike
trails. This is also true for income generated from car parking. Income
from mountain bike event rider fees, cycle hire and sponsorship is managed
by franchise businesses, this information is not held by the Forestry
Commission.

Best wishes
