I would like to know how much has been spent on flood defences against sea, river and surface water flooding over the last 5 years. In addition, I would also like to find out how much the council has spent repairing flood damages.

Please find below a breakdown of the spend of Chichester District Council
managing coastal erosion and flood risk in the last 5 financial years.
Revenue spend – maintaining the existing defences
18/19 (YTD) £6,988.68p
Beach Management Plan – Bolstering beach levels and enhancing retaining
18/19 (YTD) £43,326.02p
Lifeboat Way Sea Wall – Repair to failed section of sea wall
Storm Damage Repair – repairs to damage caused by 13/14 winter storms
The council only has information on money spent by Chichester District
Council, other Risk Management Authorities including the Environment
Agency and West Sussex County Council have invested significantly in
managing flood risk in the area. Details of which, if required would need
to be sought from them direct.
