Dear Freedom Of Information,

In respect of the Freedom of Information Act I would be grateful if you could supply me with the following...

For each of the financial years beginning April 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010 (to-date), the expenditure incurred by the Council for the
purposes of:

1. Legal expenses relating to chasing and recovery of Council Tax
Arrears including the legal counsel costs, bailiffs fees, court
fees, court orders, bankruptcy orders, etc, annotated by type of
cost, totals for each year / to-date for the current year (although
if possible, broken down by month would be useful)

2. Legal expenses relating to chasing and recovery of Business
Rates Arrears, including legal counsel cost, bailiffs fees, court
fees, court orders, bankruptcy orders, annotated by type of cost,
totals for each year / to-date for the current year (although if
possible, broken down by month would be useful)

Please also supply...

3. The total number of individual council tax payers for each of
these years involved in these court/legal cases (simple number
required, no names needed).

4. The total number of individuals/legal entities involved in legal
action regarding arrears for each of the years mentioned (simple
number required, no names needed).

Further,

5. Please supply details of the legal expenditure incurred by the
Council for any purpose for each of the above mentioned financial
years, broken down by month, and by category (i.e. personal injury
claims, libel claims, debt recovery, fraud, industrial tribunal,
etc).
